Notes on a Manuscript...

The Nuts & Bolts of the Manuscript

As of this writing, Francis Drake in Nova Albion - The Mystery Restored awaits a publisher. The work is complete, with the following exceptions:

1. The index has not been compiled, pending final formatting;

2. Publication-quality copies of the illustrations, along with appropriate permissions, remain to be acquired;

3. A final proof-reading of the numerous quotations of early source material is necessary.

In its present format of 7 X 10 inches, printed in an uncrowded fairly large typeface and without the items yet to come (see above) the book has 516 pages, including the 72 (mostly partial-page) illustrations and the 782 endnotes. The word count is approximately 150,000. The manuscript is in WordPerfect 7.0 (Windows 95) format.

Author's Note: Some of this material is adapted from or relates to my yet-unpublished book Francis Drake in Nova Albion - The Mystery Restored, in which these and neighboring thickets are explored much more deeply than on these few web pages. Thus there may be references here not fully explained, or answers missing their questions. Also lacking here is documentation, provided in the book by 782 endnotes. - Oliver Seeler
